Competition method First, the parent holding the child circles around the ring, bows to the ring, and then leaves.At that time, the referee sits in the center of the ring with his fan to his side.
When their child's name is called, the parent steps forward from either side of the stage and hands their child over to a mawashi-clad performer.
(The referee and the caller wear the same costumes as those worn by sumo wrestlers.The person holding the child on the ring (a member of the university sumo club wearing mawashi) enters the ring with the referee's name and the person holding the child steps onto the ring.
When the referee calls out "Look, look," both wrestlers look at their children.In "Hakkeyoi, Nokotta," the referee, the caller, and the matchmaker use various techniques to try to make the wrestler cry.The gestures of the person calling out and pairing are interesting.
The first child to cry is declared the winner and leaves the stage.
