The ``11th Oedo Yoshiwara Setsubun Ghost Costume Contest'' sponsored by the Yoshiwara Shopping Association was held at Hanazono Park in Taito Ward.In the past, it was said that evil spirits would appear during Setsubun, when time and space become unstable, and in order to hide from them, people in Yoshiwara would call themselves ghosts and dress up in different costumes than usual.This custom is called Setsubun Obake.The rain had stopped at the venue, and the ghosts and spectators were enjoying the event while eating and drinking.
