Hoozuki District, Senso-ji July 9-10, 2016
The Hoozuki District is flooded with people who celebrate an ancient culture that began in 1716 at the Senso-ji Temple to beckon for good fortune. Of course, many items are on sale, including hoozuki (Physalis alkekengi) plants used as medicinal herbs. It is said that during the Edo summers, attaching little bells to windmills cools them down.
