Umamitchi Street – Kaminari-mon Street

The Asakusa Samba Carnival somehow keeps its ancient vibe while finding a way to mix in a mood of constant change. This festival began in 1982 as a way for the locals to enjoy summer evenings. Imagine five hundred thousand people flooding the streets in front of Kaminarimon as several teams dance off against each other to the rhythm of Samba music.
