The Crying Sumo event began in 1986 and takes place behind the Senso-ji in a park to commemorate the five-year anniversary of the return of a kabuki star. A wish for every baby to live strong, the babies are held by a sumo wrestler until the baby cries. The sumo is done by the babies crying voice.
