高張提灯
吉原神社の名が入った高張提灯が道中の先導をいたします。
金棒引き
シャン、シャンと金属製の棒を鳴らしながら歩くのが「金棒引き」。道中を先導する 露払い的な役割であり、真ん中の金棒引きが持つ提灯には仲の町の文字。足元を照らすために後ろ向きに持ちます。
手古舞
片肌脱ぎにして襦袢を見せ、たっつけ袴（膝から下を絞った仕立てのもの）をはき、背中 には花笠を背負い、桃割れのかつらを付けたものが、今日の一般的な手古舞の姿です。
禿
身のまわりの世話をしながら、遊女としてのあり方などを学ぶ花魁のお付きの子達。江戸では中期からおかっぱの髪型はしません。
